Since its founding in 2012, CityKids has undergone significant development. Here you will find our key milestones, from the establishment of the organization to the present day.
Later this year, CityKids will open its first international location in Dubai—a major milestone that we look forward to with great pride and excitement.
Over the past decade, CityKids has grown into a thriving organization. As of 2025, CityKids operates 13 locations across the Netherlands. The organization employs 275 staff members and provides care to 700 children and young adults.
CityKids is celebrating its 10th anniversary. A special milestone, because in the past 10 years CityKids has grown into a thriving organization. For 10 years, CityKids has been making a tremendous difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young adults with disabilities and/or nursing care needs.
CityKids opened a supported living location featuring twelve comfortably furnished rooms for young men aged 14 to 23 with an intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder. Residents can also use a shared living space for relaxation and group activities. This location operates as a training house for motivated young people who can no longer live at home but are not yet ready for independent living.
CityKids was founded in 2012 after a three-year-old child with a physical disability thrived in a mainstream childcare setting. Surrounded by healthy peers, the child achieved in three months what normally takes a year. This success proved the power of inclusion and inspired CityKids.
